Green Tea Production Process - Basic Standards

Step 1
Harvesting Green Tea

The raw materials for green tea are fresh tea buds, carefully harvested and meticulously selected.

Step 2
Withering Tea Buds

Tea buds are left to wither in a well-ventilated room to remove hot and moist steam or dew from the harvest.

Step 3
Fixing and Enzymatic Deactivation

The withered tea buds are placed into a tea dryer or manually rotated pans to deactivate enzymes and fix the tea at high temperatures.

Step 4
Rolling the Tea

Tea is rolled by hand or using a rolling machine to shape the dry leaves into characteristic curls, resembling shrimp or hooks, as seen in Thai Nguyen tea.

Step 5
Roasting the Tea

Rolled tea is placed into a pan for drying, which is the most crucial step in determining the flavor and color of the tea.

Step 6
Refining Tea Aroma

The tea is sifted to remove stems, old leaves, and tea dust, then placed back into the pan until it achieves its signature fresh aroma of young rice.

Step 7
Packaging and Storing Tea

Finished tea is packed into airtight foil bags and vacuum-sealed to preserve its original flavor.
